Established in 1907 the Buckinghamshire Building Society until 1998 it had only one branch but expanded with a second branch in Chalfont St Peter. Its main operations are handled at its head office in Chalfont St Giles.

It now has assets of over £100 million and as a mutual society, is owned by the members so has no shareholders to pay. Its emphasis is on providing value to existing and new members through competitive savings and borrowing products. It also helps the local area by helping local charities, scholls and local events.

Their mission statement places emphasis on their flexible attitude to lending and this can explain their recent award from What Mortgage magazine for "Best Value Lender over a 10 year period". Their mortgage department is located at their newest branch Market Place, Chalfont St Peter, Bucks.

They offer discounted and tracker rate mortgages for home buyers and various discounted rate Buy To Let products.
