Originally established in 1899 under the name "The New Edinburgh Investment Building Society" the society was renamed Century Building Society. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland it will only lend on properties in Scotland.
It does not have a brancj network but instead uses agents located throughout Scotland.
They are a mutual organisation owned by members of the Society for the benefit of current and future members. Century can offer both residential and commercial mortgages however commercial mortgages can only ber granted for the following businesses: - Guest Houses, Small Hotels and Retail Outlets.
Century pride themselves on being flexible with each decision made on an individual basis.
