This is a company that lends primarily through mortgage advisors. Kensington Mortgages was founded in 1994. It achieved plc status in November 2000 and became the first stock exchange listed company in this specialist sector.
Kensington specialise in the adverse sector, right to buys and buy to let products. Their speciality however is the sub prime adverse market with various products for customers with a bad credit score often caused by a CCJ or IVA, where gaining credit from a standard lender can be very difficult. Bad credit can be divided into three sectors light, medium and heavy adverse and Kensington can offer mortgages for all of these.
