Established in 1856 the Newbury Buliding Soc was previously known as the The Newbury Permanent Benefit Building & Investment Society. It has merged with a few other societies along the way renaming itself The Newbury in 1932.

Today the Building Society has total assets of just over £500 million and remains a mutual society benefiting its members.

It has a broad mortgage product base and offers mortgages for first time buyers, Offset Mortgages, New Build Homebuy mortgages and buy to let mortgages.

The Newbury is a local building society, firmly committed to creating and maintaining close links with the communities that they serve.
